The Mandolin Orchestra of Niagara
Niagara Music Awards World Group of the Year 2011
Welland Arts and Culture Award 2012
Enjoyed the great turnout for our fall 2015 concert, "Just for Fun" with McPherson's Rant.
We have had a busy year with performances at the St. Catharines Folk Arts Festival in May, the Rose Festival World Ball at Casa Dante in June, and a fiftieth wedding anniversary in August.
Preparations are underway for a fall concert on Sunday, October 16 at 2:00 at the Welland Wellness Complex Theatre. The concert theme is "Celebrating our Heritage". In honor of 125 years of Ukrainians in Canada, the first half will be traditional Ukrainian music in authentic costumes. There will be a brief intermission followed by music honoring other ethnic groups that make up our beautiful country. Tickets are available through the Welland Wellness Complex front desk.
With the most recent increase in postage costs we are finding it quite expensive to do mailings. If you are on our mailing list and would like to be informed by phone, or email, please contact our mailing committee. We do not share our list with anyone, and send out only one mailing per concert

About the MOON
International favourites, North American tunes, Broadway hits, Celtic music, Pops, light classics - the Mandolin Orchestra of Niagara (MOON) does it all! Under the direction of Sylvia Hlywka Brabson, this group of musicians presents a wide range of music sure to delight any audience.
The Mandolin Orchestra of Niagara, winners of the Niagara Music Awards World Group of the Year in 2011, is a modern ensemble capable of providing music to suit any mood or occasion. Rehearsals are held Monday evenings at Casa Dante Hall in Welland. Although the mandolin and mandolin family instruments are the backbone of the group, an eclectic mixture of other instruments is utilized to compliment the mood and enhance the performances. The orchestra is frequently accompanied by talented guest artists.
The members of the MOON were proud to be selected for the Welland Arts and Culture Award for 2012. This is a great honour for the orchestra.
The orchestra has entertained audiences on both sides of the border. Past highlights include a Beatles Concert at Lancaster Opera House in Lancaster, New York; a guest performance with the Niagara Symphony; a Ukrainian Show at the Niagara Concert Series in Niagara Falls, Ontario; and combined concerts with the Niagara Regional Police Men's Choir, Sweet Harmony, and BroadBand.
